What Makes Mud in a Watercolor Painting?
Do you sometimes struggle with muddy areas in your watercolor painting? What do you think is the cause of this?
There are so many theories as to what causes mud. Most people assume that it comes from the paint itself or mixing too many colors together. I think the paint has very little to do with it. I think a muddy area in a painting is a result of the way the paint is applied.

I thought you execution of this painting was excellent. It came out really nice…I loved the boldness of the branch coming across the hugh sheet of paper and the mauves of different shades. The music was the VERY nicest thing you could have done for your painting. God Bless your endeavors.
